Lakewood First UMC is a wonderful location to have a wedding!

In our belief in the significance of marriage, we will seek to perform and support

wedding ceremonies for church members and non-church members.

Wedding Spaces

Our Sanctuary

Our Sanctuary is our main worship space with its 70 ft center aisle and stained glass windows that can serve as the perfect backdrop for any event that requires a room of this size for four hundred people. It also has an organ and piano.

OUR CHAPEL

For a more intimate, our chapel can be a wonderful setting for many couples wedding ceremony. If you are a looking for less public and even more intimate setting, then the Meditation Chapel may be ideal for your occasion of attendance for eighty people.

OUR RECEPTION SPACES

OUR BAKER’S HALL (gym)

Size: Our largest reception hall, Baker’s Hall (gym), comes with a full stage area. Capacity: The space can accommodate a party of a few hundred people.

Payment Policy

a) Church members in good standing and shows evidence of support with the church for at least one year can have the entire wedding package at the church for $300.

For Non-church members:

b) 3 sessions of pre-marital counseling (minimum) at $30 per session (around 1 hour each) of which at the beginning of the first session the couple is to pay directly to the pastor $90. Additionally, the pastor is to receive $300 (payable directly to the Pastor) for the performing the wedding ceremony. Therefore, the pastor is to receive a minimum total amount of $390 at the first pre-marital counseling session. The couple can set up a day/ time to meet the pastor for an initial 30 minute meeting, before making a final decision. The couple can schedule additional pre-marital counseling sessions. If by chance the couple has designated their own person to officiate the wedding, they must have a person submit a letter to the Senior Pastor to confirm they have provided marriage counseling to the couple.

c) Every Lakewood First United Methodist Church’s pastors reserve the right to not perform the wedding ceremony for any couple even after a couple may have signed a contract. In the extreme circumstance the pastor refuses to perform the wedding, the pastor shall give reason in writing to the couple and refund the $390. Furthermore, the couple may also receive their non-refundable deposits.

d) Our church insists upon the use of our official church wedding coordinator to ensure the proper use of our facilities even if the couple has a person designated to help coordinate their wedding.

e) If the couple wants to use the sanctuary only the cost will be $500. The couple must give the church a non-refundable check for $250 when the wedding ceremony church facility agreement is signed. The second and final check shall be paid to the church no later than 3 weeks before the wedding.

f) If the couple wants to use the sanctuary and Baker Hall the cost will be $1000. The couple must give the church a non-refundable check for $500 when the wedding ceremony church facility agreement is signed. The second and final check shall be paid to the church no later than 3 weeks before the wedding.

g) We have an organist, pianist, and vocalist available to be contacted separate from this contract.
