What to Expect
Sunday Worship Gathering
The Sunday Worship Gathering is one hour in length from 10:15 am - 11:15 am. We describe our worship style at Lakewood First UMC as "traditional". We sing traditional hymns along with a selection of gospel & contemporary music as well.
Arriving
Visitors can park in the two assigned visitor parking spots on the northside parking lot off Bellflower Blvd. You may enter through the central double doors closest to the street level or either side throught the single doors beside the restrooms and Chapel. Two greeters will meet you in the Narthex will point you in the right direction and answer any questions you might have.
Come As You Are
Dress however you like. At Lakewood First UMC you'll see blue jeans as well as business casual alike.
Bring the Kids
All children are escorted to the Discovery Room for Children's Church following the Gospel Reading at 10:30 am. They will participate in the Worship experience, then be dismissed at the same time as the Worship Gathering.
Fellowship
Coffee and doughnuts are provided in the church courtyard after the worship service.
Holy Communion
We usually celebrate/participate in Holy Communion every 1st and 3rd Sundays in addition to special holidays.
