Steel Drum Band Ministry

The Lakewood First United Methodist Church Steel Drum Band rehearses on Sundays after the morning service from 11:45am - 12:30pm. We have a dedicated rehearsal room upstairs on the South-East corner of the church campus.

Fellowship time (with cookies and punch) takes place immediately before our rehearsal. If you come to rehearsal early, please feel free to join us downstairs on the patio for refreshment before the rehearsal.

This group is a ministry of the church. We play sacred music arranged by rote for our steel band. We play in the church service once per month. Please consider dropping by to join us or just enjoy the music during a service or a rehearsal!

If you own your own steel pan this would be a great opportunity for you to play more! If you own your own steel drums, bring them! If you don't have your own instrument, you can play on of our sets of pans! The following instruments are supplied at the facility and are shared amongst the members of the group: 1 six bass, 1 four cello, 1 quadraphonic, 2 double seconds, 2 tenor pans. No drum set or percussion is being used with this group - just steel pans. It sounds great.
