Congregational Care
Congregational Care is every vigilant of the cares and concerns of our congregational family and beyond. If anyone is in poor health or is going through difficult times, we make sure that they are placed on the Church Prayer Line, we send cards, follow-up with telephone calls, whatever it takes to let you know that our church family Cares. Many times someone slips through the cracks and we do not make contact with them. This is where you come in... If you are aware of someone in need of some loving Care, please contact either of the co-chairs of Congregational Care and let us know. Erin Paxton (Greggers1@verizon.net).
Erin Paxton One body, many parts working together - being supportive of each other... because we Care! We currently have several concerns. "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who conforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 "And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will not certainly love his reward." Matthew 10:42 Can you recall how many times God has unexpectedly refreshed (cup of cold water) you in the past? Perhaps by way of a friend's encouraging word during difficult times; unexpected money when in need; a card when you were feeling down; or maybe just a loving hug. How do we offer small cups of cold water to others? Even our small gestures can make a great impact. God's living water refreshes us everyday! |
